At HCP, our commitment to social responsibility and sustainable development is demonstrated through the acquisition of two prestigious labels: EPV (Entreprise du Patrimoine Vivant – Living Heritage Company) and LWG (Leather Working Group). Our approach, based on the principle of “quality work”, focuses on minimising our environmental impact and prioritising the safety and well-being of our craftsmen. These labels bear witness to our wish to promote sustainable and ethical practices while maintaining equitable and positive relationships with all our stakeholders.
We take great pride in being recognised as an EPV, a prestigious label that celebrates our commitment to preserving heritage, craftsmanship, and excellence in the leather industry. At HCP, we are dedicated to upholding ancestral traditions in leatherworking while also incorporating modern best practices. Our EPV status is a testament to our unwavering commitment to these principles. We guarantee secure and ethical sourcing of skins, and respect for animal welfare through unitary traceability. We also regularly audit each sector based on charters that have been in place for over ten years, thus ensuring that our processes meet the very highest standards. Our pursuit of excellence goes even further and we collaborate with veterinary experts, researchers, animal welfare organisations, and species protection authorities to continuously improve our standards. Our IFCA (International Crocodilian Farmers Association) membership allows us to share our experience with other players in the sector to promote better breeding practices based on scientific research. Our commitment to protecting animals and preserving species forms the heart of our mission. At HCP, we adhere to the standards in force at our production sites and strive to minimise our environmental impact by reducing our water and energy consumption. Additionally, we constantly invest in innovative facilities and systems to improve the efficiency of our waste treatment. As a company that understands the value of the rare and precious materials we rely on, we optimise their use at every stage of our production process. Furthermore, all our products comply with our strict internal specifications which are based on the strictest global limits for each regulated substance. Our active monitoring, in collaboration with our R&D teams, ensures that we meet both current and future safety requirements.
We firmly believe in the importance of preserving our traditional heritage while also continuously innovating for a more sustainable future.
At HCP, we take pride in being a member of the Leather Working Group (LWG), a non-profit organisation devoted to improving environmental and social practices in the leather supply chain. By obtaining certification for our sites and embracing the LWG label, we demonstrate our dedication to transparent, responsible, and sustainable practices in the production of premium leather. We guarantee leather from environmentally friendly sources. The implementation of LWG standards at our sites, certified by an independent auditor, aims to guarantee that we adhere to best practices in the management of chemicals, the fight against deforestation, animal welfare, and improved working conditions. As part of our ongoing efforts, we strive to reduce water and energy consumption at our production sites and continuously improve the efficiency of our waste treatment processes through innovative technologies. We use production methods that minimise negative environmental impacts and we are committed to reducing our use of regulated chemical substances. Our Leather Working Group membership and the certification of our sites reflect our commitment to producing leather of the very highest quality but also underlines our dedication to reducing our environmental impact.
We firmly believe that achieving excellence in the leather industry should not be at the expense of our planet, which is why we are proud to be associated with an organisation that promotes sustainable practices within our sector.
