Social Responsibility: our values

Our model of sustainable development, since the establishment of Hcp, has been based on a constant desire to “do well” so as to minimise our environmental footprint and preserve the health and safety of our artisans and our customers, while at the same time, developing harmonious relationships with our stakeholders.

Our commitments

We guarantee supply of leathers that is secure, ethical, and respectful of the welfare of the animal by ensuring their unit traceability beyond the requirements of the Washington Convention and by regularly auditing each supply chain on the basis of charters whose first version dates back more than ten years.

These repositories are enriched regularly thanks to our collaborations with expert veterinarians, researchers, associations and authorities for the defence of the animals and the protection of the species. A certification process by an external body is under way. In addition, since 2016, we have been participating alongside the main players in the sector (farmers, tanners, manufacturers, brands) in the ICFA - International Crocodilian Farmers Association. This multi-party association brings together the experience of its members and a scientific community specialising in crocodiles with the goal of defining and developing the best breeding practices based on practices and studies as well as financing new scientific research to cover unexplored fields.

In keeping with the standards in place at our production sites, we are committed to reducing our water and energy consumption and improving the efficiency of our waste disposal treatment through ongoing investments in our facilities and innovative systems. Aware of working with rare and precious materials, we integrate these developments into our practices as well as the optimisation of their use.

All of our articles comply with internal specifications referring to each regulated substance using only the world’s strictest thresholds. The active monitoring conducted in conjunction with our research and development teams make it possible for us to meet current and future safety requirements.

As a responsible company, we have always paid particular attention to maintaining long-term cooperative relationships with our suppliers and subcontractors and fostering partnerships with the people and the community in the territories where we operate.
